Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Thoracic surgery continues to evolve rapidly, driven by technological innovation, refined surgical techniques, and the growing complexity of thoracic diseases. Minimally invasive approaches, including video- and robot-assisted thoracic surgery, are improving patient outcomes and recovery. At the same time, surgeons face challenges such as treating advanced malignancies, optimizing perioperative care, and managing comorbidities in aging populations.

This Special Issue, “Thoracic Surgery Today: Innovations, Challenges, and Future Perspectives,” aims to highlight recent advances and ongoing challenges in clinical thoracic surgery. Topics of interest include surgical oncology, the airway, the lung, mediastinal and esophageal surgery, minimally invasive techniques, enhanced recovery protocols, and future directions in personalized thoracic care, including new approaches, evolving technoligies, and multidisciplinary treatments.

We invite original research articles, clinical studies, and comprehensive reviews that reflect the evolving practice of thoracic surgery and its role in modern multidisciplinary care
