Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of cognitive training and rehabilitation has become increasingly significant as the aging population grows and the prevalence of age-related brain diseases associated with cognitive dysfunction, such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease, continues to rise. Additionally, various neuropsychiatric conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, and schizophrenia, are also linked to cognitive dysfunction. These conditions pose substantial challenges to individuals, families, and healthcare systems worldwide. Despite extensive research efforts, effective pharmacological treatments for cognitive dysfunction remain elusive. Furthermore, for certain populations, such as children, non-pharmacological approaches may provide safer and more viable alternatives. Engaging cognitive training can assist children with better learning, helping them overcome cognitive challenges and improving their quality of life. This Special Issue highlights the latest advances in cognitive training, rehabilitation, and stimulation, offering a comprehensive exploration of diverse non-pharmacological approaches. These include behavioral interventions, computer-based programs, and virtual reality applications tailored to various populations. Collectively, these approaches hold the potential to enhance cognitive health across diverse groups. By showcasing this research, the Special Issue aims to advance the field and inspire further studies.
