Sustainable Materials, Design, Maintenance, and Management for Transport Infrastructure
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a Special Issue entitled “Sustainable Materials, Design, Maintenance, and Management for Transport Infrastructure” as a premier international forum that represents a catch-all for this domain.
At a time when there is pressure on all engineers, contractors, and policymakers to achieve long-standing transport infrastructures in the face of their aging, financial constraints, and extreme weather events, there is an unparalleled growing interest in durable approaches to the materials, design, and sustainable innovation used in construction, maintenance, and management.
Addressing sustainability in each phase of transport infrastructure’s lifecycle, this Special Issue focuses on advancements in innovative construction materials and reductions in emissions and waste during the design and construction phase, the employment of automation and robotics to enhance maintenance operations, as well as the implementation of green thinking and circularity principles in project administration and asset management.
Sustainability is also understood to stem from technological, economic, and environmental factors, containing an awareness of ethicality and social responsibility. Therefore, we welcome original, high-quality insights from diverse fields to promote a holistic perspective and contributors are encouraged to present case studies, theoretical models, comprehensive reviews, or empirical research that underpin the feasibility and benefits of durable and sustainable transport infrastructures.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Infrastructures is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
