Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) has substantial clinical and pathological overlap with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Both disorders are highly heterogeneous and complex in their pathogenesis. Recent studies have contributed to their biological classification and furthered our understanding of their complex pathogenesis, and the identification of biomarkers has advanced their diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. Further important goals for modern neuroscience include the analysis of specific subtypes of both disorders and the impact of comorbidities on their course and clinical outcome. This Special Issue intends to further our knowledge about the correlations between these two neurodegenerative diseases, which make up the majority of dementing disorders that occur in advanced age, and thus enhance their clinical recognition and management.
It is hoped that this Special Issue will be a valuable addition to current dementia research.
