Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Growing plants for food and pollinator provisioning in urban areas is an emerging practice called urban horticulture. This practice of growing plants in novel systems and locations can beautify our urban centers and provide resilience in food security and resources for our declining pollinator populations. Urban horticulture can also provide many of the ecosystem services (stormwater management, heat attenuation, air filtration, etc.) provided by nearby wildlands.
The purpose of this Special Issue, “Innovative Technologies and Sustainable Cultivation Practices in Urban Horticulture”, is to present innovative studies, approaches, and techniques that have recently been developed in urban horticulture across the world. In this Special Issue, we welcome innovative research on expanding the application of green roofs on every continent .
