Dear Colleagues，
Climate change is a rapidly increasing global challenge that affects plant productivity, ecosystem functioning, and the horticultural plant sector, causing both biotic and abiotic stresses.
Biotechnological approaches could be an efficient tool to provide new solutions and innovations to overcome disease damage, unfavourable environmental conditions, and commercial bottlenecks. This Special Issue will focus on innovative research on the application of new technological approaches to mitigate stresses in cultivated crops. In the era of climate change, it will be necessary to find long-term solutions to obtain tolerant or resistant plants while maintaining uniformity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Particular focus in this Special Issue will be given to studies that include in vitro plant production, gene expression analysis, stress mechanisms, epigenetic implications for long and trans-generational effects, and the biochemical and physiological pathways involved in stress response.

Horticulturae is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
