Advances in New Mobility for Electric Vehicles

This special issue belongs to the section “E: Electric Vehicles“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The International Innovation Forum, organised within the framework of the New Mobility Congress (KNM), aspires to become an annual conference in the Baltic Sea region, covering both traditional and modern engineering techniques as well as technical solutions applied in the fields of new mobility, the transport of the future (including road, air, and rail transport), and innovations aimed at reducing harmful emissions. The aim of the Forum within the KNM is to bring together scientists from around the world to present advancements in vehicle, infrastructure, and energy engineering and to create an environment that fosters the exchange of ideas and information.

This year, the Forum will take place in person from 23 to 25 September 2025 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, Poland. We hope to create an environment in which participants can establish new collaborations and meet with experts specialising in the fundamentals, applications, and products of the aforementioned fields. The Forum will be complemented by the sixth edition of the New Mobility Congress, which will attract more than 250 partners. The KNM agenda will focus on six main thematic tracks, including clean transport, urban innovation, a sustainable economy, infrastructure and investments, climate policies, and quality of life and health.

Among the key topics of the Innovation Forum are the following: propulsion systems used in inland, air, and maritime transport; infrastructure solutions; energy efficiency; the use of hydrogen technologies; fuel cell performance; smart city solutions; and more.

Scope and Contributions

This Special Issue welcomes a broad range of contributions beyond conference-related submissions to maximise research impact and community engagement. We warmly invite original research articles, comprehensive review papers, and other scholarly contributions that align with our theme of advances in new mobility and electric vehicles. While extended conference papers from the Forum are welcome, we particularly encourage independent research submissions that explore innovative solutions, emerging technologies, and cutting-edge developments in sustainable transportation.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
