Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In a world that is changing qualitatively and quantitatively at an unpredictable pace, transformations at all levels of education continue to emerge, and the demand for innovation, renewal, adaptation and effective learning of knowledge and skills is ever greater, although it is increasingly complex. Natural Sciences in Early Childhood Education, in recent years, have consolidated their presence across the globe as they are increasingly presented in curricula, programs and official texts exercising educational policies.

However, in the last decade, the changes mentioned above have greatly expanded the fields of research and application in the area of Early Childhood Science Education. The successful initial and plausible targeting of the design and implementation of effective initiation activities for young children in the Natural Sciences has been greatly expanded and has led to a search for educational environments that are created or incorporated with constructivist, inquiry-based, S(TEAM), socio-cultural, science–technology–society, non-formal and informal educational, ΑΙ, health and environmental approaches.

In such an expanded context, we welcome research articles related to:

  • learning issues of children 3-4 to 8-9 years old
  • teaching interventions
  • curricula and programs
  • teachers’ practices or training
  • use of modern technological tools
  • issues related to learning dimensions in nature, human communities, family, museums, etc.
  • any other matter in the wider context of Early Childhood Science Education
