Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Maternal–fetal medicine requires the integration of careful clinical assessment with modern diagnostic methods to ensure timely and individualized care throughout pregnancy. While ultrasound and Doppler evaluation remain central to prenatal diagnosis, genetic and molecular testing, maternal biomarkers, advanced imaging, and emerging digital technologies are increasingly improving diagnostic accuracy and risk stratification.
This Special Issue aims to present recent developments in maternal and fetal diagnosis, pregnancy monitoring, and the management of complex obstetrical conditions. We welcome original research articles, reviews, systematic reviews, case series, and case reports addressing prenatal screening, fetal structural and functional assessment, placental disorders, fetal growth abnormalities, congenital anomalies, preeclampsia, preterm birth, multiple pregnancy, maternal medical conditions, and perinatal risk prediction.
Particular attention will be given to challenging, rare, or atypical obstetrical cases that raise important diagnostic or management issues and may provide valuable lessons for clinical practice. Reports describing unusual presentations, diagnostic difficulties, individualized therapeutic decisions, and maternal or fetal complications are encouraged.
The Special Issue will also highlight the importance of clinical examination, multidisciplinary decision-making, and collaboration between obstetricians and specialists in fetal medicine, neonatology, genetics, cardiology, internal medicine, infectious diseases, dermatology, endocrinology, surgery, and other related fields. Contributions evaluating how integrated diagnostic and multidisciplinary approaches may improve clinical decisions and maternal and neonatal outcomes are particularly welcome.
We hope that this collection will bring together clinically relevant research and new perspectives across the broad field of maternal–fetal medicine.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
