Pathogenesis, Diagnosis, and Management of Rheumatic Disease: Progress and Challenges
This special issue belongs to the section “Clinical Diagnosis and Prognosis“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Rheumatic diseases cover a wide spectrum of conditions with different pathogenesis, diagnoses and treatments. In this Special Issue of Diagnostics, we invite contributions from colleagues in this field. Special attention will be paid to new information on the mechanisms associated with the development of these conditions. Another point of special interest will be the study of comorbidities associated with rheumatic diseases. This Special Issue will prioritize studies on the mechanisms associated with the development of metabolic syndrome and atherosclerosis, which often overshadow the prognosis of rheumatic diseases. Studies on the biomarkers of disease susceptibility and severity and cardiovascular risk in these conditions will also be welcome. Finally, since there have been significant advances in the management of rheumatic diseases in recent years, we will include articles that address the use of new therapies, as well as the impact these therapies have on the outcome of these entities. The broad scope of this Special Issue will allow for the inclusion of a wide variety of studies on these conditions.
