Oncology Biomarkers
A section of Current Oncology (ISSN 1718-7729).
Section Information
The Section on Oncology Biomarkers in Current Oncology is currently open to contemporary articles examining clinical research and clinical aspects of biomarker testing in oncology. Preference will be given to manuscripts that focus on human studies with clinically relevant insights, including the following:
- Prospective or retrospective/non-interventional clinical studies on biomarkers;
- Discovery of new prognostic or predictive biomarkers in cancer patients;
- Introduction of novel biomarkers into clinical practice;
- Quality assurance;
- Clinical and indirect clinical validation of predictive and prognostic biomarkers;
- Clinical ordering practices for biomarker testing.
Manuscripts examining institutional, regional, national, or international perspectives on these topics are encouraged. Review articles will be considered with preference given to invited submissions.
Additional topics of interest include:
- Molecular tumor board practices;
- The role of artificial intelligence in biomarker testing;
- Legal and regulatory aspects of biomarker testing;
- Funding for biomarker testing in oncology;
- Patient access to biomarker testing;
- Studies on turn-around time for predictive biomarkers and its impact on clinical outcomes.
