Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

High-temperature corrosion and oxidation are amongst most important properties for the metals, alloys and ceramics, and the introduction of protective coatings was the most efficient strategy for avoiding structural damage to and the performance degradation of metal, alloys or ceramic substrates. This Special Issue, entitled “Protective Coatings for High-Temperature Corrosion and Oxidation of Metals, Alloys and Ceramics”, aims to focus on advanced manufacturing approaches of protective costing and the high-temperature corrosion/oxidation mechanism.

The remit of this Special Issue is to serve as a forum for papers on the following concepts:

  • Advanced manufacturing approaches of protective coating on metals, alloys or ceramics substrate.
  • Advanced characterization technique of protective coating (FIB-TEM, SEM, TG-FT-IR, etc.)
  • Simulation combined with experimental research about the fabrication of protective coating.
  • New ideas in high-temperature corrosion and oxidation mechanism of protective coatings.
  • Understanding the failure mechanism of protective coating under extreme environment (high temperature, high pressure, etc).
  • The microstructures, mechanical properties and thermal properties of high-temperature protective coating.
  • Molecular dynamic simulation and experimental research about protective coating/substrate interface.
