Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the most complex conditions managed by healthcare professionals, requiring multidisciplinary collaboration and a multimodal approach. This has become increasingly relevant given the rising awareness and prevalence of trauma and conflict around the world.
Diagnosis and management of PTSD in infants and children is particularly challenging, since this population may not have the developmental maturity to communicate their experiences, and they are most dependent on social and cultural factors such as stable living conditions and access to healthcare and educational resources. Trauma during childhood can impact relationships with family members and peers, participation in play, learning performance, and language development. Thus, appropriate identification and management of PTSD in children is critical to their lifelong well-being.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute original research and literature reviews to this Special Issue, titled “Diagnosis and Management of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in Children”, which aims to provide an approachable overview of best practices for diagnosis and management of PTSD in pediatric populations. Your manuscript may help providers better understand clinical presentation and diagnostic assessment of PTSD and better implement therapeutic interventions to support this vulnerable population.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
