Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Scaffoldins are a heterogeneous expanding group of proteins, which are gaining increasing relevance in the fields of cellular and molecular biology and molecular pathology. In the last decades, several studies have highlighted the key role played by this group of proteins in regulating cellular processes through the modulation of several signaling pathways, as well as the increasing number of biological signaling processes in which they are involved.

The ability to coordinate multiple proteins to organize efficient functional units for signaling cascades, the functional plasticity, the capability to interact with other scaffold proteins to induce higher-order regulatory networks, are all hallmarks that highlight the importance of broadening and deepening our knowledge on this important group of regulatory and organizational proteins.

The purpose of this Special Issue, entitled “Role of Scaffold Proteins in Cell Differentiation, Cell Migration, and Angiogenesis”, is to supply a research platform for high-quality original and review articles focused on the involvement of scaffold proteins in the processes of cell differentiation and migration, as well as on angiogenesis. We welcome up-to-date studies that take advantage of cellular, molecular, morphological, physiological or pharmacological approaches to explore the role of scaffoldins in the over mentioned processes, both in health or pathology context.
