Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Chronic kidney disease (CKD)/end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) are a worldwide public health problem. The prevalence of ESKD could rise prominently over the next few decades, driven by the coming acceleration of global population aging and an increasing prevalence of diabetes and hypertension. To overcome this problem, it is indispensable for us to investigate the factors associated with the development of kidney diseases, to explore the mechanism of CKD to ESKD progression, and to search for better treatment options for various kidney diseases.
This Special Issue offers an open-access forum that aims to bring together a collection of original research and review articles addressing the cellular/molecular mechanism, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of kidney diseases, which include primary/secondary glomerulonephritis, rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, acute kidney injury, diabetic nephropathy/diabetic kidney disease, chronic renal failure, renal fibrosis, and polycystic kidney disease.
We hope that this Special Issue will provide essential and insightful evidence for our understanding of the development and progression of various kidney diseases.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Cells is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
