Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Lifestyle factors and their impact on cancer prevention, prognosis, and survivorship are increasingly recognized in the medical literature. Lifestyle factors like diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption, and weight management play crucial roles in determining the progression and outcomes of cancer. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can reduce cancer risk and even positively influence outcomes in cancer survivors. Understanding how these lifestyle factors influence the onset and progression of cancer is crucial for developing effective prevention strategies. This Special Issue focuses on the cellular and molecular basis of the link between lifestyle and cancer risk, emphasizing how adopting healthy habits can significantly reduce the likelihood of developing cancer.

We invite the submission of original research articles, reviews, and perspectives on a wide range of topics related to lifestyle factors and cancer progression, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lifestyle factors
  • Diet and cancer
  • Physical activity and cancer
  • Smoking and cancer
  • Alcohol consumption and cancer
  • Cancer risk
  • Weight management and cancer
  • Preventive measures against cancer

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cells is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
