Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue focuses on the emerging role of polyadenylation- mediated regulation as a key driver of lung remodeling and persistent pulmonary fibrosis. We invite submissions exploring how alternative polyadenylation (APA) and 3' UTR dynamics govern the activation, senescence, and state transitions of lung fibroblasts and alveolar epithelial cells. A particular emphasis is placed on the dysregulation of cleavage and polyadenylation factors (e.g., CFIm, CstF) and how their activity shapes the stability of pro- fibrotic mRNAs. We also welcome studies investigating the interplay between poly(A) tail length and RNA- binding proteins in the context of myofibroblast persistence and resolution failure. By highlighting novel bioinformatic pipelines and single-cell approaches to map polyadenylation signatures, this collection aims to uncover new epitranscriptomic targets for therapeutic intervention in interstitial lung diseases.
