Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Women suffering from gynecological and breast cancer, in the majoriy of the cases, will undergo surgical treatment. Surgery is the cornerstone of the treatment algorithm and can define the prognosis of affected women. This Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge advances transforming surgical care for women with gynecological and breast cancer. It will highlight minimally invasive techniques, fertility-sparing and function-preserving procedures and sophisticated cytoreductive strategies that aim to optimize oncologic outcomes while reducing morbidity. Contributions will address the expanding role of sentinel lymph node mapping, image-guided and AI-assisted navigation, and enhanced recovery pathways across gynecologic and breast malignancies. Treatment algorithms that involve surgery deescalation to improve quality of life, without compromizing survival, are of high interest. We particularly welcome studies integrating molecular profiling, novel biomarkers, and multidisciplinary treatment algorithms to personalize the extent and timing of surgery. Original research, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and expert perspectives are invited to define best practices, clarify ongoing controversies, and inform future guidelines in gynecologic and breast cancer surgery.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
