Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We invite researchers and clinicians to submit original research articles and reviews for a forthcoming Special Issue on ovarian cancer highlighting the latest advances in pathophysiology, progression, and treatment of advanced-stage ovarian cancer.

Ovarian malignancies remain a leading cause of cancer death, primarily due to late diagnosis and the complex nature of disease progression. Despite advances in cytoreductive surgery and chemotherapy, recurrence rates remain high, underscoring the urgent need for novel insights and therapeutic approaches.

This Special Issue will explore the biological mechanisms and clinical implications of advanced ovarian cancer, particularly in the following contexts:

  • Malignant ascites: its role in dissemination, immunosuppression, and therapeutic resistance
  • Metabolic reprogramming: alterations in energy metabolism and nutrient utilization that support tumor progression
  • Cell–cell interactions: how tumor and stromal cells communicate within the peritoneal environment
  • Intracellular signaling pathways: key mediators that drive transcoelomic dissemination, proliferation, and chemoresistance

We are particularly interested in manuscripts that use cutting-edge techniques, including single-cell analyses, organoid models, multi-omics approaches, and translational studies that bridge basic science and clinical application.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
