Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The perioperative period represents a critical window that may influence long-term outcomes in patients with cancer. Emerging evidence suggests that perioperative interventions can modulate tumor biology, immune function, inflammation, and complications that can negatively influence oncological and non-oncological outcomes in patients with cancer, as well as their well-being and quality of life. This Special Issue of Cancers invites original research, reviews, and clinical studies focused on how perioperative management strategies affect cancer prognosis, recurrence, and survival. Topics of interest include perioperative immunotherapy, hyperthermic intraoperative chemotherapy, blood transfusions and anemia management, impact of chemobrain on postsurgical neurological outcomes, surgical recovery, and return-to-intended oncological therapies for patients. Contributions exploring mechanistic insights, translational models, or novel clinical trial designs are especially encouraged. Through this collection, Cancers aims to advance the understanding of how perioperative care can be leveraged to improve oncologic outcomes and patient quality of life. Researchers and clinicians are invited to submit manuscripts that will help define evidence-based perioperative strategies in cancer surgery and shape the future of anesthesiology.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
