Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Hematological malignancies, encompassing a diverse array of blood cancers, have historically presented significant challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to their complex and heterogeneous nature. The advent of precision medicine has ushered in a transformative era, enabling therapies tailored to the unique genetic and molecular profiles of individual patients. This approach has not only enhanced therapeutic efficacy but also minimized adverse effects, thereby improving patient outcomes.

This Special Issue aims to collate cutting-edge research and comprehensive reviews that elucidate the current understanding of precision medicine in the context of hematological malignancies. By highlighting recent advancements and exploring future perspectives, this collection seeks to provide a platform for the dissemination of knowledge that can drive further innovation in this critical field.

Submissions are invited on a range of topics including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Genomic and Molecular Characterization: Studies focusing on the identification of genetic mutations and molecular alterations in various hematological cancers, and their implications for diagnosis and prognosis.
  2. Targeted Therapies and Novel Agents: Research on the development and clinical application of targeted treatments, including monoclonal antibodies, small molecule inhibitors, and other novel therapeutic agents.
  3. Biomarker Discovery and Validation: Investigations into biomarkers that facilitate patient stratification, predict therapeutic responses, and monitor disease progression or relapse.
  4. Technological Innovations: Advancements in diagnostic technologies such as next-generation sequencing, single-cell analysis, and other high-throughput methodologies that support precision oncology.
  5. Functional Precision Medicine: Approaches that combine genomic data with functional assays, such as ex vivo drug sensitivity testing, to identify effective, individualized treatment strategies.
  6. Artificial Intelligence and Data Integration: Utilization of AI and machine learning algorithms to integrate and interpret complex datasets, enhancing decision-making processes in personalized treatment planning.
  7. Ethical, Social, and Economic Considerations: Discussions on the ethical implications, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness of implementing precision medicine in diverse healthcare settings.
  8. Case Studies and Clinical Trials: Reports on clinical experiences, trial outcomes, and real-world applications of precision medicine strategies in hematological malignancies.

Researchers and clinicians are encouraged to submit original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and insightful commentaries that align with the themes outlined above. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality contributions.

By collating a diverse array of perspectives and findings, this Special Issue endeavors to advance the field of precision medicine in hematological malignancies, fostering innovations that will ultimately enhance patient care and outcomes.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
