Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Lung cancer continues to represent the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, requiring an increasing effort in multidisciplinary interaction to improve the efficacy of diagnosis and treatment. Over the last few decades, significant advancements have been achieved in managing this tumor, especially when considering diagnostic tools for staging and restaging, pathological analysis, integrated oncological protocols, improved pharmacologic options and refinements in surgical techniques. Progress in systemic oncologic treatment are mainly focused on the impressive results of targeted therapy. Concerning the surgical approach, main successes have been related to the diffusion of minimally invasive procedures and to the increasing experience with more extended reconstructive operations.
This Special Issue, “Clinical Update on Lung Cancer: Current Strategies and Outcome”, aims to deal with some of main diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in the management of this aggressive disease, highlighting topics from the perspective of different specialties involved in this field.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute an original article or a review article addressing topics in the research area of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. If you are interested, please share with us a proposed title for your contribution.
We look forward to receiving your valuable contribution.
