Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The past couple of decades have seen a shift in the use of psychoactive substances. With greater access to cannabis through legalization, there has been growing interest in understanding the impact of cannabis on behavioral, neural and subjective outcomes. In addition, there is increased media interest in the opioid crisis and there has also been an increase in the use of new synthetic psychoactive substances.

The following Special Issue of Brain Sciences aims to present innovative studies on recent advances in both new and traditional psychoactive substances. Authors are invited to submit cutting-edge research that addresses a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, the following: epidemiology, brain imaging, pre-clinical studies, driving, cognition, cannabinoids, diagnosis, treatment, pain, impacts of legalization, routes of administration, pharmacokinetics. We will consider primary research, systematic reviews and meta analyses in addition to clinical trials and observational studies.
