Advances in Personality Disorders
This special issue belongs to the section “Neuropsychiatry“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Personality disorders (PDs) are some of the most complex psychiatric conditions that have enormous impacts on healthcare and society. Recent decades have seen a wealth of neurobiological investigations seeking to understand the neural substrates of PDs, their symptom clusters, and pathological personality traits. The emergence of dimensional models of PDs, exemplified by the DSM Alternative Model of Personality Disorders, has provided an exciting new vantage point for researching these conditions. Given this, the aim of this special issue of Brain Sciences is to present a collection of studies detailing the most recent advances in the field of PD research. Authors are invited to submit cutting-edge research, case reports, and reviews that address a broad range of topics related to PDs, including epidemiology, early diagnosis, evidence-based interventions, comorbidities, use of technology to better understand underlying neurobiology (e.g., MRI, EEG, PET), and biomarkers. In particular, we aim to present advances in PD research that may have a significant translational effect on the field of clinical services.
