Climate Change Impact on Blood Biomarkers in Domestic and Production Animals

This special issue belongs to the section “Animal Physiology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Global temperature trends and weather conditions are showing long-term deviations from historical seasonal average values, and temperatures are predicted to continue to rise in the coming decades. In fact, climate change is widely recognized as one of the most significant challenges facing the planet for both humans and animals. It is increasing the risk of some diseases in domestic animals. Many implications of climate change may be observed and preliminarily recognized through changes in the hematological profile as it serves as an optimal indicator to assess health, production, reproduction and performance and evaluate an animal’s physiological adaptability to adverse environmental conditions influencing their productivity and welfare.
