Best Paper Award

The Animals Best Paper Award is granted annually to highlight publications of high quality, scientific significance, and extensive influence. The evaluation committee members chose five articles of exceptional quality that were published in the journal in the year before last, and the winners will be announced online by the end of May 2024.

The Prize:

– Three research articles and two reviews will be selected:

  • The first prize (one review and one research article): CHF 500 each;
  • The second prize (one review and two research articles): CHF 300 each;

– Each winner will also receive a certificate and the opportunity to publish a paper free of charge in Animals in 2024 following peer review.

Eligibility and Requirements

– All papers published in Animals are eligible (both regular and Special Issue submissions).

Selection Criteria

– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– The originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– The creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– The number of citations and downloads.
