Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue of Agronomy dedicated to selected papers from the 5th International Electronic Conference on Agronomy (IECAG 2025). This Special Issue is organised in collaboration with MDPI’s open access journal Agronomy (ISSN: 2073-4395), and will feature high-quality extended versions of the most outstanding contributions presented during the conference.

IECAG 2025 will bring together leading experts and researchers in the field of agronomy to share cutting-edge advances and foster global collaboration through a fully virtual platform. Building on the success of the conference, this Special Issue aims to disseminate the most impactful research findings to a wider scientific audience.

We invite all conference participants to submit extended versions of their presented work for consideration in this Special Issue. Contributions will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure the highest academic standards. Authors whose submissions are accepted will receive a 15% discount on the article processing charge.

Key topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Biostimulation and biocontrol strategies;
  • Breeding and selection technologies;
  • “New” crops for adaptation to climate change;
  • Crop water and nutrient management;
  • Crop biotic interactions;
  • Basic plant science;
  • Precision and digital agriculture;
  • Sustainable farming systems and soil management.

We believe that this Special Issue will serve as a valuable reference for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike, highlighting the innovative approaches and important findings that will emerge from IECAG 2025.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Agronomy is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
