ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information at the ISPRS Technical Commission IV Symposium 2024, Held on 22–25 October 2024, Fremantle, Perth, Australia

The ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information (IJGI, ISSN: 2220-9964) attended the ISPRS Technical Commission IV Symposium 2024 from 22 to 25 October 2024 in Fremantle, Perth, Australia.

During the 4-day event, IJGI, as the leading journal, hosted a dedicated exhibition tabletop with 10 other MDPI-related journals, showcasing its unique publishing characteristics. Our representatives actively participated in various conference activities, engaging in in-depth exchanges and discussions with scholars from around the world. They not only shared their latest research findings and academic progress but also held lively discussions on cutting-edge issues in the field of geoinformation. These exchanges broadened their academic horizons and provided new ideas and directions for their future research.

On 23 October 2024, we held the 2024 IJGI Editorial Board meeting. We greatly appreciate that Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kainz hosted this meeting and that there were eight Editorial Board Member (EBM) attendees, including the ISPRS Secretary General and Treasurer, with five EBMs attending the meeting online.

At this Editorial Board meeting, the EBMs had a positive discussion about the Journal Report, peer-review process, journal’s scope, and other journal development issues.

Concurrently, the conference organized an award ceremony. An IJGI representative presented the Best Paper Award, and the Best Oral/Poster Presentation Award sponsored by the ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information (IJGI).
