TropicalMed 2024 Young Investigator Award—Winner Announced

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the TropicalMed Young Investigator Award for 2024 is Dr. Exequiel O. J. Porta.
Dr. Exequiel O. J. Porta is currently a Medical Research Council (MRC) Research Fellow at the UCL School of Pharmacy, University College London (UCL), UK, and Coordinator of the Health and Biological Sciences Area at the Network of Argentine Researchers in the UK (RCARU - RAICES). He received his Ph.D. in chemistry (2015) and his M.Sc. in biotechnology (2010) from the National University of Rosario, Argentina. His research experience includes positions as COFUND Marie Curie Research Fellow at Durham University (UK) and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at CONICET (Argentina). Dr. Porta’s current and previous research interests include medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, bioinformatics, proteomics, parasitology, and drug discovery against neglected tropical diseases and infectious diseases. He is a member of various professional societies, including the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the American Chemical Society (ACS-MEDI), the Argentine Society of Organic Chemistry (SAIQO), and the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases. Winning the Young Investigator Award is an outstanding achievement in today’s competitive environment. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Exequiel O. J. Porta.
As the awardee, Dr. Porta will receive an honorarium of CHF 1000, a voucher fully covering article processing fees for a manuscript in TropicalMed (ISSN: 2414-6366) after peer-review, valid for one year, and an electronic certificate.
