When people track moving faces, they use their eyes to fixate on each “target” face one at a time to activate and refresh a high-resolution representation in the working memory. The resolution of target representations deteriorates with time. In the article, we review all published eye-tracking studies examining tracking of multiple moving objects. One main conclusion is that eye behavior differs significantly in tracking objects with distinct identities from that in tracking visually identical objects. View this paper.
