Cover Story: We used structured observations to record both mobile phone use and safe road crossing behaviours exhibited by UK adolescents as they arrived and left school for the day. The main conclusion was that the safety of adolescent pedestrians was compromised by their use of mobile phones. The detailed effects of this are discussed. View this paper.
