Cover Story: In the oscillatory regime, inverse methods are required to unveil the time course of the synaptic conductance gsyn(t). We propose a three-step strategy: (1) fit data of a measurable quantity (e.g., the membrane potential v(t)) to a reference model, (2) approximate the period–conductance relationship (T–g curve) associated to the model, and (3) for each interspike time period, estimate gsyn from the T–g curve. Based on the non-permutation property of intercell scheduling in flowline manufacturing cells, a hybrid harmony search algorithm is proposed to solve the problem with the makespan criterion. On the basis of the basic harmony search algorithm, the thr...

We present a constructive approach to Bernstein copulas with an admissible discrete skeleton in arbitrary dimensions when the underlying marginal grid sizes are smaller than the number of observations. This prevents an overfitting of the estimated de...

The addition of gamification to the classroom as a methodological tool means that the teacher’s opinion about this has become an inflection point that can affect its use or not in the classroom. In this sense, the main objective of the present...

In this paper we prove that for any m≥1 there exists a generic extension of L, the constructible universe, in which it is true that the set of all constructible reals (here subsets of ω) is equal to the set D1m of all reals definable by a parameter f...
