Cover Story: CPT and Lorentz symmetry are generally assumed to hold exactly in nature. The possibility of their violation has tested in the past with extreme precision for photons by astrophysical observations in the context of an effective field theory extension of electrodynamics. Here we show that additional CPT-violating effects may arise from photon mixing with the Z boson due to spontaneous gauge symmetry breaking in the SU(2)×U(1) electroweak model. View this paper
