The journal retracts the article titled, “Crystallographic and Optical Spectroscopic Study of Metal–Organic 2D Polymeric Crystals of Silver(I)- and Zinc(II)-Squarates” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were raised by a reader regarding errors in the crystal structure of this paper [1].
In accordance with the journal’s standard procedures, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and the Editorial Board, which confirmed irregularities in the X-ray diffraction results. While the author collaborated with the investigation, the supporting data and experimental evidence provided was deemed insufficient to validate the conclusions of the article. As a result, the Editorial Board decided that these errors undermine the credibility of the overall findings presented in the article, and therefore have decided to retract this article.
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Crystals.
The authors have been informed of this retraction and have indicated their disagreement with this decision.
