Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue “Sustainable Vegetable Production: Biostimulants, Stress Tolerance, and Nutritional Enhancement” aims to consolidate cutting-edge advances that enable resilient, resource-efficient, and nutrition-forward vegetable systems. We focus on plant biostimulants (microbial inoculants and non-microbial substances), rootstock–scion grafting, and allied stress-tolerance strategies that safeguard yield and quality under drought, salinity, heat, and other combined stresses. We also welcome contributions that elevate nutritional value—through agronomic and genetic biofortification—while quantifying environmental performance, techno-economic feasibility, and postharvest nutrient retention. We invite original research, reviews, and short communications spanning mechanisms (molecular to physiological), field validation across environments, life-cycle assessment, and regulatory perspectives. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, high-throughput phenotyping and multi-omics, microbiome engineering, product–environment–management modeling, nutrient-use efficiency, micronutrient density and bioavailability, and integration into scalable production systems. This Special Issue seeks to foster knowledge exchange that advances sustainable practice and strengthens vegetable supply-chain resilience.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Agronomy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
