Research on Wastewater Treatment with the Application of Membrane Technologies

Dear Colleagues,

In the context of water scarcity, humankind is searching for viable methods to reduce the over-exploitation of finite freshwater resources. Wastewater or contaminated groundwater resources represent one of the most available yet unusable water resources. Discoveries of novel functional materials have played critical roles in the advancement and development of scientific research and technology that improve our lives. With decades of development, membrane technologies have been rising in popularity and have shown promise in wastewater treatment and resource recovery. To this end, several membrane technologies have been developed across the globe for wastewater treatment and purification. In this Special Issue, authors are invited to submit original articles and reviews on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced membranes and membrane technologies for wastewater treatment applications.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Membranes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
