Background/Objectives: Although contemporary preventive concepts are well established in dentistry, their consistent integration into routine clinical practice remains uncertain. This study aimed to assess how preventive strategies are understood and applied in daily dental practice, and to explore the relationship between clinicians’ level of familiarity with preventive concepts and their implementation in patient care. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 202 practicing dentists between October 2024 and May 2025 using a structured, anonymous questionnaire comprising 34 items. The instrument explored professional characteristics, knowledge of preventive concepts, clinical decision-making, use of fluoride-based interventions and minimally invasive approaches, and familiarity with risk-based systems. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests (p < 0.05). Results: Most respondents reported moderate to high familiarity with contemporary preventive concepts, particularly remineralization and fluoride-based prevention. Preventive measures were commonly used; however, their implementation was often not structured. Formal caries risk assessment was routinely or often performed by 69.3% of clinicians, yet structured systems such as CAMBRA were routinely or often used by only 19.8%. Continuing professional education was significantly associated with greater use of preventive technologies (p = 0.018), and the use of structured risk assessment was associated with risk-based restorative decision-making (p = 0.041). Conclusions: Respondents reported a high level of familiarity with preventive concepts, but their application appeared inconsistent and frequently unstructured. These findings highlight a persistent gap between familiarity and implementation and point toward the need for clinically feasible, structured approaches that can support preventive decision-making in routine care. Dataset quality significantly affects the effectiveness of a machine learning (ML) model in an intrusion detection system (IDS) for cyber-physical industrial control systems (CPS/ICS) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Existing surveys compare datasets qualitatively or along limited dimensions, whereas this review introduces quantitative documentation and decision-aid scoring across 23 ICS/OT/IIoT datasets. These datasets are analyzed along seven measurable axes, with their attacks mapped to MITRE ATT&CK for ICS tactics. Quantitatively, 14 of the 23 datasets (60.9%) are built on physical testbeds, and 22 of the 23 map to MITRE ATT&CK for ICS, spanning 11 of the 12 tactics. We introduce a checklist for documentation completeness (0–7) and a decision-aid rubric (0–15) covering realism, attack diversity, class imbalance, documentation, and reproducibility. Protocol coverage across these datasets is skewed toward Modbus (13 of 23 datasets, 57%), while many other protocols (such as Profinet and OPC UA) are underrepresented relative to their industry deployment. The available datasets show structural gaps in capturing multi-stage adversary behavior. In practice, dataset selection should pair a realism-anchored dataset with a high-reproducibility one, and account for protocol diversity and APT representation. Full article

Social justice in Islamic theological education represents a concept that is normatively central yet pedagogically underarticulated. Rooted in the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the broader Islamic intellectual tradition, it carries legal obligation, ethical responsibility, spiritual maturity, and social sensitivity. These sources consistently affirm social justice as a foundational principle of a balanced and equitable social order, but its translation into educational practice remains unabiding. This research examines how social justice is positioned within the higher education syllabus for future Islamic religious education practitioners (teachers and imams) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Using Mayring’s qualitative content analysis, in this study, written responses collected through an open-ended qualitative expert survey were analysed. Thematic indicators were developed as an outcome and were used as criteria for the subsequent documentary analysis of the official syllabus. Then followed an analytical examination of the syllabus of a study programme leading to the qualification of Islamic religious education practitioners. The findings indicate that social justice is not explicitly articulated within intended learning outcomes as knowledge, attitude, or pedagogical competence. The analysis structured through Bloom’s taxonomy demonstrates the presence of pedagogical and methodological sensitivity across all cognitive levels, from knowledge to evaluation. This reveals a discrepancy between the normative centrality of social justice and its partial pedagogical realisation. This study identifies a persistent tension between theological ideals and educational practice. The potential for rearticulating a theological–pedagogical framework in which social justice becomes an explicit, lived, and transformative category within practitioners’ education was highlighted as something in place of a conclusion. Objective Image Quality Assessment (IQA) is a fundamental pillar of computer vision, essential for optimizing tasks ranging from supervised machine learning to real-time video streaming. While IQA aims to quantify image degradation caused by noise and artifacts, a persistent gap remains between technical objective measurements and subjective human perception. Objective IQA has advanced significantly through full-reference (FR) metrics designed to approximate human judgment. Standard measures such as the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSIM), and root mean square error (RMSE) provide established benchmarks; however, they frequently fail to capture nuanced human visual preferences, often penalizing perceptually insignificant shifts or favoring overly smoothed images. Conversely, modern deep-learning metrics like LPIPS offer better perceptual alignment but remain computationally prohibitive for real-time, resource-constrained environments. This paper addresses these challenges through a dual-purpose approach. First, it provides a comprehensive survey and tutorial of the IQA landscape, offering self-contained mathematical derivations of classical error sensitivity measures, including MSE, RMSE, MAE, Euclidean distance, RMSLE, and Huber loss, as well as artificial neural network (ANN) approaches. This foundational review ensures a rigorous understanding of the field’s mathematical evolution. We introduce the Adaptive Contrast-Weighted Structural Similarity (ACSSIM) framework. ACSSIM is a lightweight hybrid metric that enhances classical FR-IQA by incorporating local weighting derived from human visual system (HVS) properties. Specifically, it targets Weber’s Law-based contrast and entropy, which are key elements of our hybrid quality assessment logic and key components of non-reference image quality metrics. Extensive numerical experiments on the TID2013 and KADID-10k benchmark show that ACSSIM improves correlation with human subjective judgments compared with the baseline PSNR and SSIM. Our results confirm that ACSSIM maintains low computational overhead, bridging the gap between efficiency and accuracy for practical deployment. We made our code publicly available to facilitate future research in efficient perceptual modeling. Full article

Producers’ willingness to implement conservation-based management practices such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is shaped not only by economic and agronomic factors, but also by the information networks through which they gain knowledge. While peer-to-peer interactions and formal extension education are known to influence producer decision-making, little is understood about how regional information networks relate to IPM implementation among specialty crop producers in the Midwestern United States. We surveyed 62 specialty crop producers across multiple states to (1) evaluate the diversity of insect-focused IPM practices used, (2) identify sources of IPM information, and (3) assess regional patterns of IPM information exchange using Social Network Analysis (SNA). Producers implemented a broad portfolio of IPM practices, and the size of IPM information networks did not significantly differ among producers that implemented a low, intermediate, or high diversity of IPM practices. Results from a partial network analysis revealed that only 1% of all potential connections were shared among actors, suggesting that producers relied on a few trusted sources for IPM information. Furthermore, SNA revealed that Extension personnel and experienced producers were the most influential sources of information and acted as key brokers of information, linking otherwise isolated groups of producers. Collectively, our results suggest that the composition and structure of information networks may provide important context for understanding how pest management information is exchanged among Midwestern specialty crop producers. Enhancing connectivity between producers and key brokers may improve the dissemination and implementation of diverse IPM practices for insect pests in Midwestern specialty crop production. Background/objective: Given the increasing complexity of the luminal breast cancer landscape, a proper characterization is required in everyday clinical practice, and the recurrence after the standard first-line treatment with CDK4/6 inhibitors with/without endocrine therapy should be managed. Method: The Hermione Exchange Educational Program was held in Milan, Italy, between September 2024 and January 2025. Two questionnaires were proposed regarding the use of targeted treatment or chemotherapy after progression from CDK4/6 inhibitors. The lecture and use cases enhanced the discussion during the workshops. Results: From the surveys, it emerged that most participants (69%) considered liver metastases at CDK4/6-inhibitor progression as a key reason to initiate chemotherapy, while lung progression influenced this choice for 50% of participants. Liver involvement guided the use of targeted therapy for 56%, and attitudes were divided on whether the duration of first-line CDK4/6 therapy should affect decisions (44% in agreement vs. 38% in disagreement). The willingness of patients to receive chemotherapy (88%) and comorbidities (81%) were significant drivers. Almost all participants agreed that both the duration of response and the molecular status were key aspects to consider when choosing a second line of therapy, along with the general clinical condition of the patient. In the lecture, tissue and liquid biopsy are considered powerful tools to describe tumor molecular features over time; such complexity should be harnessed by a close dialogue between oncologists, molecular biologists, and pathologists to optimize the therapeutic choice according to the mutational status of patients. The use cases illustrate three patients with visceral progression, non-visceral progression within 12 months, and non-visceral progression after 12 months following CDK4/6 inhibitors. Conclusion: Genomic testing should be considered at diagnosis and repeated during treatment to monitor the disease. The clinical experience acquired over the years must be integrated with new molecular knowledge. Full article

Background/Objectives: Clomiphene citrate (CC) is widely used off-label for male infertility despite limited evidence and inconsistent guideline recommendations. Although previous studies suggest variability in clinical practice, real-world data on prescribing patterns, patient selection, monitoring, and treatment success definitions remain limited. This study assessed CC prescribing patterns among urologists and identified factors associated with its use. Methods: A national, cross-sectional, web-based survey was conducted among urologists in Türkiye between November and December 2025. Of 1558 invited participants, 421 responded (27.0%), and 402 were included in the final analysis. The questionnaire was based on European Association of Urology and American Urological Association guidelines, refined through expert consensus, and pilot-tested. Multivariable logistic regression identified factors independently associated with CC use. Results: CC was used by 39.3% of respondents and was independently associated with private practice (odds ratio [OR] = 2.90, p < 0.001), greater professional experience (OR = 2.18, p = 0.002), and higher infertility case volume (OR = 2.27, p = 0.001). Substantial heterogeneity was observed in patient selection, dosing, monitoring, and success definitions. Treatment goals and perceived success definitions most frequently focused on laboratory-based endpoints, including semen parameters and testosterone levels, which were more frequently selected than pregnancy-related endpoints. However, spontaneous pregnancy was also commonly reported as a perceived success definition, whereas live birth was not separately assessed. An apparent indication paradox was observed for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, which may reflect differing interpretations of functional versus irreversible hypogonadotropic states, and 31.6% of clinicians reported not routinely providing risk counseling. Conclusions: CC prescribing for male infertility remains heterogeneous among responding urologists and was associated with clinician experience, practice setting, and infertility case volume rather than standardized protocols. The predominance of laboratory-based endpoints, together with the frequent inclusion of spontaneous pregnancy as a perceived success definition and the absence of separate live-birth assessment, underscores the need for clearer terminology, standardized prescribing frameworks, structured risk counseling, and future studies incorporating clinically meaningful reproductive endpoints. Post-conflict reconstruction research has examined façade materiality and symbolism, yet the process conditions under which aesthetic specifications are systematically overridden during construction remain neglected. This study investigates why designed architectural aesthetics fail to survive implementation in post-2017 Mosul, Iraq. A mixed-methods design combined formal visual analysis of 12 recently completed residential façades with a structured survey of 45 practicing architects. Survey data reveal that designers are excluded from construction supervision in 76% of projects and that clients intervene in material and color selection in 70% of cases. Visual analysis identifies a sophisticated design language—orthogonal massing articulated through contrasting materials—that is rarely realized in built form. Where designers retain supervisory authority, projects most consistently achieve material–form coherence. The study advances the concept of an aesthetics of interruption (the systematic degradation of designed form–material relationships through the fragmentation of professional authority during construction). Exclusion produces four distinct pathologies: material substitution, execution degradation, language override, and ornamental hollowing. The findings demonstrate that aesthetic degradation in post-conflict reconstruction stems not from design incapacity but from broken process structures. Safeguarding architectural quality requires contractual frameworks mandating designer supervision and material-substitution protocols that protect design intent. Full article

Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is highly prevalent in northern Ethiopia but data on community knowledge, attitudes, and health-seeking behaviours remain limited. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between November and December 2022 in CL-endemic areas of Tigray using mixed sampling and a structured questionnaire administered to 512 households. Knowledge of CL transmission was poor: only 1% correctly identified sand flies as the vector, while 25% believed the disease was genetically acquired. Approximately 67% of participants perceived CL as stigmatizing, and 63.3% reported a preference for traditional or local treatments over biomedical care. Knowledge levels were higher among rural residents and in households with prior CL experience. Gender and education were significantly associated with treatment-seeking and prevention practices, and participants from households with previous CL episodes reported better practices overall. Despite this, most participants demonstrated limited knowledge, unfavourable attitudes and suboptimal treatment-seeking and prevention behaviours. These findings highlight a disconnect between high disease burden, perceived seriousness and stigma, and limited understanding of transmission and prevention. Targeted, community-based health education interventions are needed to improve awareness of transmission, reduce stigma, and enhance access to effective treatment in CL-endemic settings. Full article

Tsunami fragility modeling plays a central role in probabilistic coastal risk assessment; however, representing structural vulnerability under near-field tsunami conditions remains challenging due to complex hydrodynamic loading, strong spatial variability, and the presence of pre-existing earthquake damage. This paper advances near-field tsunami fragility modeling through three specific contributions, each bridging simulation-based methods and empirical damage survey observations. First, it demonstrates how a successive earthquake–tsunami simulation framework can generate conditional fragility surfaces that explicitly account for pre-existing seismic damage without relying on statistically intractable probabilistic decompositions. Second, it develops and validates a distance-dependent intensity-shifting approach—derived from analysis of the 2011 Great East Japan tsunami survey dataset—that adapts baseline fragility curves to near-field and near-coast conditions in a physically interpretable and practically deployable manner. Third, it establishes an explicit cross-validation pathway between simulation-derived fragility surfaces and empirical damage observations through machine-learning-assisted feature importance analysis, a connection largely absent from prior literature. Together, these contributions provide a physically consistent and data-informed foundation for near-field tsunami fragility modeling that is directly applicable—as a methodological framework—to loss and resilience estimation platforms such as IN-CORE and HAZUS and to risk-informed coastal infrastructure design in subduction-zone regions, subject to typology-specific calibration; the simulation results are demonstrated for a US Reinforced Concrete (RC) moment-frame archetype and the empirical results for Japanese wood-frame construction, so direct quantitative application to other structural typologies requires recalibration of the respective model components. (1) Background: This study develops a hybrid assessment matrix for the early identification of material-related risks in adaptive reuse projects, with a particular focus on material conservation. The Material Conservation for Adaptive Reuse Risk Evaluation Matrix (M-CARE) integrates UNESCO Tools, the ICCROM ABC Method and its agents of deterioration, and the material damage classifications of the MDCS Damage Atlas. (2) Methods: The framework was tested through a case study of Issız Han, an Early Ottoman caravanserai. Risk mechanisms identified through M-CARE were compared with deterioration patterns documented after 18 years of post-reuse operation. The comparison focused on the degree of correspondence between predicted deterioration mechanisms and observed deterioration patterns. (3) Results: The findings indicate a high degree of correspondence between the deterioration mechanisms identified through M-CARE and the deterioration patterns documented during field surveys. In particular, moisture-related deterioration patterns showed substantial correspondence with the risks identified during the assessment stage. The results also highlight the influence of cumulative microclimatic factors and the value of complementary analytical approaches for evaluating long-term deterioration processes. (4) Conclusions: M-CARE provides a practical and rapidly applicable decision-support framework for the early identification and classification of material-related risks in adaptive reuse projects, supporting more informed conservation planning and proactive heritage management. Challenging work conditions and a predominantly male workforce have intensified concerns about worker well-being in the U.S. construction industry. Although these issues are increasingly acknowledged, empirical evidence on how management perceives and addresses employees’ psychological needs remains limited. This study seeks to fill that gap by examining managerial awareness and responsiveness to workplace mental health challenges, as well as the implementation of targeted well-being interventions across construction organizations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating quantitative data from a nationwide survey of construction professionals with qualitative insights from open-ended responses. Results indicate that workers experience moderate levels of psychological strain, with notable differences across demographic and occupational groups. Women, non-white professionals, and site supervisors reported higher stress and lower overall well-being, emphasizing the need for more inclusive and tailored interventions. While both senior leaders and frontline supervisors demonstrated moderate awareness of these challenges, supervisors were perceived as less consistent in taking action to address them. Among existing workplace practices, transparent compensation structures and opportunities for skill diversification were identified as the most established supports for well-being. In contrast, mentoring programs, employee recognition, and open feedback mechanisms emerged as promising yet underutilized strategies. Overall, the study contributes by shifting attention from documenting construction-related mental health stressors to understanding how leadership recognition is translated into organizational response. Therefore, the findings provide practical guidance for construction leaders seeking to strengthen workers’ well-being and build a more resilient work environment. Full article

Background/Objectives: The clinical management of uterine fibroids in the context of infertility is characterized by significant heterogeneity. The aim of our study was to record the participants’ views and clinical practices regarding minimally invasive, fertility-sparing management of fibroids, focusing on fertility outcomes. Methods: An online survey was distributed to members of the European Society of Gynecology (ESG), using a questionnaire comprising 27 questions. Questions 1 to 5 related to the participants’ background, while questions 6 to 27 related to the clinical management of fibroids. Results: A total of 98 participants completed the survey, of whom 83% (n = 82) practiced in European countries and 43% (n = 42) had completed specialist training in minimally invasive gynecological surgery. For FIGO 0–II fibroids, hysteroscopic removal was recommended by 94% (n = 92) of participants, although only 27% (n = 26) would do so in all cases, irrespective of the size and submucosal proportion. Anti-adhesion agents were used at least occasionally after the hysteroscopic removal of FIGO 0–II fibroids by 51% (n = 50) of participants. A clinically significant fibroid size was recognized by 57% (n = 56) of participants for FIGO III fibroids and by 51% (n = 50) for FIGO IV fibroids. The opinion was almost evenly divided on whether the distance between an intramural, non-cavity-distorting fibroid and the junctional zone affected the decision for removal: 49% (n = 48) considered that it did not, whereas 51% (n = 50) considered that it did, citing variable cut-off values. Most participants favored minimal-access approaches over laparotomy, whereas the use of robot-assisted laparoscopy was limited. Conclusions: Our results confirm the significant variation in clinical practice associated with fibroid management and underline the need for standardized care, based on high-quality evidence. This study examines how live-streaming cues influence impulsive purchase intention in fresh-fruit e-commerce, where consumers face substantial quality uncertainty and limited opportunities for pre-purchase inspection. Drawing on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework, we examine five stimuli—anchor professionalism, anchor interactivity, visual attractiveness, price discount, and scarcity—and test whether perceived value (cognitive) and positive emotions (affective) operate as parallel mediators. Based on survey data from 353 Chinese consumers, the results show that anchor professionalism, anchor interactivity, price discount, and scarcity are positively associated with impulsive purchase intention both directly and indirectly through perceived value and positive emotions, whereas visual presentation follows a different pattern. Contrary to the common assumption that vividness primarily triggers emotional impulse, visual attractiveness does not exhibit a robust direct effect on purchase intention; instead, its influence is transmitted dominantly through cognitive perceived value rather than affective positive emotions. This finding suggests that, in high-uncertainty perishable categories, vivid presentation is more consequential when it helps consumers evaluate product value than when it merely stimulates affective reactions. The study offers targeted implications for S-O-R theory and provides practical guidance for platform design and promotional disclosure in real-time e-commerce. Full article

This study examines the associations among entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial resilience, financial constraints, and sustainable business practices among micro and small women entrepreneurs in the West Bank, Palestine. Drawing on Social Cognitive Theory and Conservation of Resources Theory, a moderated mediation model is proposed and explored in which entrepreneurial resilience mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and sustainable business practices, while financial constraints moderate this indirect pathway. Survey data were collected from 282 micro and small women entrepreneurs through a purposive stratified sample facilitated by microfinance institution and NGO networks, and the model was assessed using partial least squares structural equation modeling via SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial self-efficacy is positively associated with sustainable business practices both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurial resilience. Financial constraints significantly weaken the resilience-to-practices pathway, and the moderated mediation analysis reveals that the indirect association diminishes as financial constraints intensify. These findings contribute to sustainable entrepreneurship theory by identifying the sequential psychological pathway through which self-efficacy translates into responsible business conduct and by establishing material resource scarcity as a boundary condition of that pathway in fragile economy contexts.
