This paper presents an electromechanical coupling model integrating an equivalent magnetic network (EMN) model of a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM) with the dynamic model of a helical planetary gear transmission system. Using this model, this study analyzes the dynamic characteristics of an electric drive system, specifically motor phase current, electromagnetic torque, and gear meshing force, under self-fault-tolerant control strategies. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the self-fault-tolerant control strategy enables rapid fault tolerance during open-phase faults, significantly reducing system fault recovery time. Meanwhile, compared to the open-phase faults conditions, the self-fault-tolerant control effectively suppresses most harmonic components within the system; only the second harmonic amplitude of the electromagnetic torque exhibited an increase. This harmonic disturbance propagates to the gear system through electromechanical coupling, synchronously amplifying the second harmonic amplitude in the gear system’s vibration response. This study demonstrates that self-fault-tolerant control strategies significantly enhance the dynamic response performance of the electric drive system under open-phase faults conditions. Furthermore, this study also investigates the electromechanical coupling mechanism through which harmonics generated by this strategy affect the gear system’s dynamic response, providing theoretical support for co-optimization electromechanical coupling design and fault-tolerant control in high-reliability electric drive transmission systems. This study conducts an in-depth analysis of the dynamic characteristics of a single reheat steam turbine generator unit and its speed control system under variable operating conditions. A comprehensive simulation model was constructed to comprehensively evaluate the impact of the heat extraction system on the dynamic behavior of the unit, which integrates the speed control system, actuator, single reheat steam turbine body, and once-through boiler dynamic coupling. This model focuses on revealing the mechanism of the heat extraction regulation process on the core operating parameters of the unit and the system frequency regulation capability. Based on the actual parameters of a 300 MW heat unit in a power plant in Guangxi, the dynamic response of the established model under typical dynamic conditions such as extraction flow regulation, primary frequency regulation response, and load step disturbance was simulated and experimentally verified. The results show that the model can accurately characterize the dynamic characteristics of the heat unit under variable operating conditions, and the simulation results are in good agreement with the actual engineering, with errors within an acceptable range, effectively verifying the dynamic performance of the heat system module and the rationality of its control parameter design. This study provides a reliable theoretical basis and model support for the accurate simulation of the dynamic behavior of heat units in the power system and the design of optimization control strategies for system frequency regulation. This paper addresses the trajectory tracking control problem of underactuated ships in ocean engineering, which faces the dual challenges of tracking error time–performance regulation and robustness design due to the system’s underactuated characteristics, model uncertainties, and external disturbances. Aiming to address the issues of traditional finite-time control (convergence time dependent on initial states) and fixed-time control (control chattering and parameter conservativeness), this paper proposes a predefined-time adaptive control framework that integrates an event-triggered mechanism and neural networks. By constructing a Lyapunov function with time-varying weights and designing non-periodic dynamically updated dual triggering conditions, the convergence process of tracking errors is strictly constrained within a user-prespecified time window without relying on initial states or introducing non-smooth terms. An adaptive approximator based on radial basis function neural networks (RBF-NNs) is employed to compensate for unknown nonlinear dynamics and external disturbances in real-time. Combined with the event-triggered mechanism, it dynamically adjusts the update instances of control inputs, ensuring prespecified tracking accuracy while significantly reducing computational resource consumption. Theoretical analysis shows that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded, tracking errors converge to a neighborhood of the origin within the predefined-time, and the update frequency of control inputs exhibits a linear relationship with the predefined-time, avoiding Zeno behavior. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in complex marine environments. Compared with traditional control strategies, it achieves more accurate trajectory tracking, faster response, and a substantial reduction in control input update frequency, providing an efficient solution for the engineering implementation of embedded control systems in unmanned ships. Identifying habitat characteristics is essential for conserving critically endangered species. When quantifying species habitat characteristics, ignoring data types may lead to misunderstandings about species’ specific habitat requirements. This study focused on the critically endangered Chinese pangolin in Guangdong Province, China, and divided the study area into 600 m × 600 m grids based on its average home range. The burrow number within each grid was obtained through line transect surveys, with burrow numbers/line transect lengths used as direct indicators of habitat utilization intensity. The relationships with sixteen environmental variables, which could be divided into three categories, including topographic, human disturbance and land cover composition, were quantified using the GAM method. We also converted continuous data into binary data (0, 1), constructed GAMs and compared them with habitat utilization intensity models. Our results indicate that the habitat utilization intensity model identified profile curvature and slope as primary factors, showing a nonlinear response to profile curvature (Edf = 5.610, p = 0.014) and a positive relationship with slope (Edf = 1.000, p = 0.006). The presence–absence model emphasized distance to water (Edf = 1.000, p = 0.014), slope (Edf = 1.709, p = 0.043) and aspect (Edf = 2.000, p = 0.026). The intensity model explained significantly more deviance, captured complex nonlinear relationships and supported higher model complexity without overfitting. This study demonstrates that habitat utilization intensity data provides a more ecologically informative basis for in situ conservation (e.g., identifying core habitats), and the process from habitat selection to habitat utilization should be integrated to reveal species’ habitat characteristics. This paper presents a flight control framework based on neural network Model Predictive Control (NN-MPC) to tackle the challenges of acceleration command tracking for supersonic vehicles (SVs) in complex flight environments, addressing the shortcomings of traditional methods in managing nonlinearity, random disturbances, and real-time performance requirements. Initially, a dynamic model is developed through a comprehensive analysis of the vehicle’s dynamic characteristics, incorporating strong cross-coupling effects and disturbance influences. Subsequently, a predictive mechanism is employed to forecast future states and generate virtual control commands, effectively resolving the issue of sluggish responses under rapidly changing commands. Furthermore, the approximation capability of neural networks is leveraged to optimize the control strategy in real time, ensuring that rudder deflection commands adapt to disturbance variations, thus overcoming the robustness limitations inherent in fixed-parameter control approaches. Within the proposed framework, the ultimate uniform bounded stability of the control system is rigorously established using the Lyapunov method. Simulation results demonstrate that the method exhibits exceptional performance under conditions of system state uncertainty and unknown external disturbances, confirming its effectiveness and reliability. Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a multifactorial process. Amyloid plaque formation constitutes the main characteristic of the disease. Despite the identification of numerous factors associated with AD, the mechanism remains unclear in several aspects. Disturbances in intestinal and blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration, observed in AD, may facilitate immunologic response to food-derived antigens. In the present study, antibodies against egg albumin, bovine-casein, and N-Glycolyl-Neuraminic acid (Neu5Gc) were measured in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum of the patients using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Zero anti-Neu5Gc and low concentrations of anti-casein antibodies were detected. Increased anti-native egg albumin antibodies were present in the serum of patients of all stages with 65% positivity (p < 0.001) in mild disease and a higher percentage in females (81.9%, p < 0.001). Lower serum positivity to anti-denatured egg albumin antibodies was observed, showing a gradual increase with severity and higher prevalence also in females. In the CSF, anti-native and anti-denatured egg albumin antibodies were mainly observed in severely ill patients with accumulative positivity to either antigen, reaching 61.8% in severe vs. 15% in mild disease (p < 0.001). Increased values were mainly observed in males. Anti-egg albumin antibodies may be implicated in the disease mechanism through sequence/structural similarity with human proteins, mainly serpins, and it would be worth consideration in further investigations and therapeutic strategies. The large-scale integration of wind power, photovoltaic systems, and energy storage systems (ESSs) into power grids has increasingly influenced the transient stability of power systems due to their dynamic response characteristics. Considering the commercial confidentiality of core control parameters from equipment manufacturers, parameter identification has become a crucial approach for analyzing ESS dynamic behaviors during high-voltage ride-through (HVRT) and low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) and for optimizing control strategies. In this study, we present a multidimensional feature-integrated parameter identification framework for ESSs, combining a multi-scenario voltage disturbance testing environment built on a real-time laboratory platform with field-measured data and enhanced optimization algorithms. Focusing on the control characteristics of energy storage converters, a non-intrusive identification method for grid-connected control parameters is proposed based on dynamic trajectory feature extraction and a hybrid optimization algorithm that integrates an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm with gradient-based coordination. The results demonstrate that the proposed approach effectively captures the dynamic coupling mechanisms of ESSs under dual-mode operation (charging and discharging) and voltage fluctuations. By relying on measured data for parameter inversion, the method circumvents the limitations posed by commercial confidentiality, providing a novel technical pathway to enhance the fault ride-through (FRT) performance of energy storage systems (ESSs). In addition, the developed simulation verification framework serves as a valuable tool for security analysis in power systems with high renewable energy penetration. Full article

In wind-assisted orchard spraying operations, the dynamic response of leaves—manifested through changes in their posture—critically influences droplet deposition on both sides of the leaf surface and the penetration depth into the canopy. These factors are pivotal in determining spray coverage and the spatial distribution of pesticide efficacy. However, current research lacks comprehensive quantification and correlation analysis of the temporal response characteristics of leaves under wind disturbances. To address this gap, a systematic analytical framework was proposed, integrating real-time leaf segmentation and tracking, geometric feature quantification, and statistical correlation modeling. High-frame-rate videos of fluttering leaves were acquired under controlled wind conditions, and background segmentation was performed using principal component analysis (PCA) followed by clustering in the reduced feature space. A fine-tuned Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM2-FT) was employed to extract dynamic leaf masks and enable frame-by-frame tracking. Based on the extracted masks, time series of leaf area and inclination angle were constructed. Subsequently, regression analysis, cross-correlation functions, and Granger causality tests were applied to investigate cooperative responses and potential driving relationships among leaves. Results showed that the SAM2-FT model significantly outperformed the YOLO series in segmentation accuracy, achieving a precision of 98.7% and recall of 97.48%. Leaf area exhibited strong linear coupling and directional causality, while angular responses showed weaker correlations but demonstrated localized synchronization. This study offers a methodological foundation for quantifying temporal dynamics in wind–leaf systems and provides theoretical insights for the adaptive control and optimization of intelligent spraying strategies. In the context of the mining industry, the belt conveyor is a critical piece of equipment. The motor constitutes the primary component of the belt conveyor apparatus, and its stable and accurate operation can significantly influence the performance of the belt conveyor apparatus. This paper introduces an integrated control approach combining vector control methodology with active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) for velocity regulation and model predictive control (MPC) for current tracking. The ADRC framework actively compensates for load disturbances and parameter variations during speed control, while MPC achieves precise current regulation with minimal tracking error. Validation involved comprehensive MATLAB/Simulink R2024a simulations modeling PMSM behavior under mining-specific operating conditions. The results demonstrate substantial improvements in dynamic response characteristics and disturbance rejection capabilities compared to conventional control strategies. The proposed methodology effectively addresses critical challenges in mining conveyor applications, enhancing operational reliability and system longevity. Full article

Stones in farmland soil affect the efficiency of agricultural mechanization and the efficient growth of crops. In order to solve the problems of traditional stone pickers, such as large soil disturbance, high soil content and low picking rate, this paper introduces the Archimedean curve with constant radial expansion characteristics into the design of the core working parts of the drum picker and designs a new type of drum stone picker. The key components such as spiral blades, rollers, and scrapers were theoretically analyzed, the structural parameters of the main components were determined, and the reliability of the spiral blades was checked using ANSYS Workbench software. Through the preliminary stone-picking performance test, the forward speed of the stone picker, the rotation speed of the drum, and the starting sliding angle of the spiral blade were determined as the test influencing factors. The picking rate and soil content of the stone picker were determined as the test indicators. The response surface test was carried out in the Design-Expert13.0 software. The results show that, when the forward speed of the stone picker is 0.726 m/s, the drum speed is 30 rpm, and the initial sliding angle of the spiral blade is 26.214°, the picking rate is 91.458% and the soil content is 3.513%. Field tests were carried out with the same parameters, and the picking rate was 91.42% and the soil content was 3.567%, with errors of 0.038% and 0.054% compared with the predicted values, indicating that the stone picker meets the field operation requirements. These research results can provide new ideas and technical paths for improving the performance of pickers and are of great value in promoting the development of advanced harvesting equipment and the efficient use of agricultural resources. Rivers in tropical semi-arid regions face increasing anthropogenic pressures yet remain critically understudied despite their global importance. This study evaluated the aquatic macroinvertebrate community structure in the Ranchería River, Colombia, across three land use conditions: conserved zones (CZs), urban/agricultural zones (UAZs), and mining influence zones (MZs). Ten sampling stations were established, and macroinvertebrate communities were assessed alongside physical, chemical, and hydromorphological variables during the dry season (January–March 2021). A total of 9288 individuals from 84 genera across 16 orders were collected. Generalized Linear Models revealed significant differences among zones for 67 genera (79.8%), indicating strong community responses to land use gradients. Conserved zones exhibited the highest diversity according to the Hill numbers and were dominated by sensitive taxa, including Simulium, Smicridea, and Leptohyphes. Urban/agricultural zones showed the lowest richness (35 genera) and were characterized by disturbance-tolerant species, particularly Melanoides. Mining zones displayed intermediate diversity but exhibited severe habitat alterations. A redundancy analysis with variance partitioning revealed that land use types constituted the primary driver of community structure (a 24.1% pure effect), exceeding the physical and chemical variables (19.5%) and land cover characteristics (19.2%). The integrated model explained 63.5% of the total compositional variation, demonstrating that landscape-scale anthropogenic disturbances exert a greater influence on aquatic communities than local environmental conditions alone. Different anthropogenic activities create distinct environmental filters affecting macroinvertebrate assemblages, emphasizing the importance of land use planning for maintaining aquatic ecosystem integrity in semi-arid watersheds. In complex marine environments, ramp-based recovery systems for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) often encounter engineering challenges such as reduced docking accuracy and success rate due to disturbances in the capture window attitude. In this study, a desktop-scale physical experimental platform for recovery compensation was designed and constructed. The system integrates attitude feedback provided by an attitude sensor and dual-motor actuation to achieve active roll and pitch compensation of the capture window. Based on the structural and geometric characteristics of the platform, a dual-channel closed-loop control strategy was proposed utilizing midpoint tracking of the capture window, accompanied by multi-level software limit protection and automatic centering mechanisms. The control algorithm was implemented using a discrete-time PID structure, with gain parameters optimized through experimental tuning under repeatable disturbance conditions. A first-order system approximation was adopted to model the actuator dynamics. Experiments were conducted under various disturbance scenarios and multiple control parameter configurations to evaluate the attitude tracking performance, dynamic response, and repeatability of the system. The results show that, compared to the uncompensated case, the proposed compensation mechanism reduces the MSE by up to 76.4% and the MaxAE by 73.5%, significantly improving the tracking accuracy and dynamic stability of the recovery window. The study also discusses the platform’s limitations and future optimization directions, providing theoretical and engineering references for practical AUV recovery operations. Full article

DNA is inherently unstable and is susceptible to damage from both endogenous sources (such as reactive oxygen species) and exogenous factors (including UV, ionizing radiation, and chemicals). The accumulation of DNA damage manifests as genetic mutations, chromosomal instability, and the stalling of DNA replication and transcription processes. Accumulated DNA damage influences apoptosis and cell cycle checkpoints, serving as one of the key triggers for the manifestation of the senescent phenotype. Both aging and cancer are associated with the accumulation of mutations in somatic cells. Disruption of cell cycle control and uncontrolled proliferation are fundamental characteristics of any cancer cell, with the majority of anticancer drugs acting as inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinases, thereby inducing a transition of cells into a senescent state. Consequently, disturbances in the dynamics and regulation of inflammatory responses, oxidative stress, cell proliferation, DNA damage repair, and epigenetic anomalies, along with the influence of retroviruses and transposons, lead to the accumulation of senescent cells within the human body, characterized by blocked replication and cell cycle, as well as a distinct secretory phenotype. The age-related or disease-associated accumulation of these senescent cells significantly alters the physiology of tissues and the organism as a whole. Many secondary metabolites of higher plants exhibit senolytic and senomorphic activities, although most of them are not fully characterized. In this review, we will explore the principal signaling pathways in mammalian cells that govern the cell cycle and cellular senescence, with a particular emphasis on how their dynamics, expression, and regulation have been modified through the application of senotherapeutic compounds. The second section of the review will identify key target genes for the metabolic engineering, primarily aimed at enhancing the accumulation of plant secondary metabolites with potential therapeutic benefits. Lastly, we will discuss the rationale for utilizing liver cells as a model system to investigate the effects of senolytic compounds on human physiology and health, as well as how senotherapeutic substances can be leveraged to improve gene therapy approaches based on CRISPR/Cas9 and prime-editing technologies. Optimal Operation Strategy of Ship Power System Under Battle Damage for Enhancing Survivability in Long-Term Missions

After a ship suffers an external strike, the system is often in a poor state of battle damage. Currently, the support capacity of the system in all aspects decreases dramatically, the operation interval narrows, and it is not easy to ensure the completion of the long-term mission chain, especially when it involves impact loads, which is more significant. Given this, this paper proposes a restoration strategy for the power system of battle-damaged ships based on the long-term mission chain. First, the Ship Power System (SPS) is modelled and analyzed to obtain the multi-case operating characteristics of various types of loads, including impact loads under the mission chain. Second, the frequency and power support capability of energy storage is mined and quantified, and the limitations of its frequency support, power interaction, and other multi-operating states are characterized, based on which the multi-operating state switching strategy of the system containing energy storage is formed, to enhance the active support capability of the system. Subsequently, a frequency response model of the system is established. This model takes into account the support provided by energy storage, analyzes the dynamic evolution of system frequency under the disturbance of directly connected impact loads. Based on this analysis, the safe operating boundary of the system is identified. Finally, a two-stage SPS optimization model is proposed based on the above, and the effectiveness and superiority of this paper’s strategy are verified through simulation analysis of typical scenarios and comparison of multiple strategies. A scheme of load frequency control (LFC) is proposed based on the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) and active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) for multi-region interconnected power systems considering the renewable energy sources (RESs) and energy storage (ES). The dynamic models of multi-region interconnected power systems are analyzed, which provides a basis for the subsequent RES access. Superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) and capacitor energy storage (CES) are adopted due to their rapid response capabilities and fast charge–discharge characteristics. To stabilize the frequency fluctuation, a first-order ADRC is designed, utilizing the anti-perturbation estimation capability of the first-order ADRC to achieve effective control. In addition, the system states are estimated using a linear expansion state observer. Based on the output of the observer, the appropriate feedback control law is selected. The DDPG-ADRC parameter optimization model is constructed to adaptively adjust the control parameters of ADRC based on the target frequency deviation and power deviation. The actor and critic networks are continuously updated according to the actual system response to ensure stable system operation. Finally, the experiment demonstrated that the proposed method outperforms traditional methods across all performance indicators, particularly excelling in reducing adjustment time (45.8% decrease) and overshoot (60% reduction).
