The section of Water Quality and Contamination, invites state-of-the-art research articles and critical reviews regarding the qualitative and ecological aspects of water. Topics addressed include the following: physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of water; point-source and diffuse water pollution; contaminants such as nutrients, organics and inorganics, pharmaceuticals, nano-particles and microplastics and their impacts on organisms and trophic chains; transport and adsorption/desorption processes; erosion and sediment transport; hydro-geochemistry; hydrogeology; eco-hydrology; aquatic ecology; wetlands; environmental water requirements; the degradation of aquatic ecosystems; preservation; ecological engineering and ecosystem restoration; environmental impacts of dams and other infrastructure; invasive species.
