Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the winner of the Sensors 2021 Travel Award for Women.
The Evaluation Committee was especially impressed with the high quality of work presented for consideration. After careful evaluation, we can now announce that the award has been granted to Dr. Marilena Giglio, a postdoctoral fellow at Politecnico of Bari, Italy. Her research is focused on the development of gas sensors based on quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy and on the optical coupling of hollow-core waveguides with interband- and quantum-cascade lasers. Dr. Marilena Giglio will receive 500 Swiss francs which she can use toward attending an academic conference in 2021.
We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting details of what was, collectively, a diverse and fascinating range of research topics. On behalf of the Assessment Committee, we congratulate the winner on her outstanding accomplishments.
Kind regards,
Sensors Editorial Office
