Formation Mechanisms and Process Analysis of Air Pollutants

Dear Colleagues,

Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. Rapid urbanization and industrialization in recent decades have led to the deterioration of air quality, threatening the health of people living in megacities and large cities. Controlling air pollution has become an ongoing challenge for researchers and policymakers worldwide. Air problem is a complex coupling of primary emissions, chemical transformation, and dynamic transport at different scales. Therefore, investigating the formation mechanisms and process analysis of air pollutants are crucial to develop effective control strategies.

This Special Issue, titled “Formation Mechanisms and Process Analysis of Air Pollutants”, seeks high-quality research articles and reviews on the latest novel advances in air pollutant formation mechanisms and their process assessment for the evaluation and improvement of air quality. The topics covered in this Special Issue include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Observations and numerical simulations of air pollutants;
• Formation mechanisms of secondary air pollutants;
• Process assessment of air pollution;
• New methods for process analysis of air pollutants;
• Control strategies for air pollution.

Manuscript Submission Information

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
