Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Polymer nanomaterials are emerging as multifunctional platforms for improving fluid mobility, interfacial behavior, reservoir conformance, and drilling-fluid performance under complex subsurface conditions. This Special Issue will highlight recent advances in the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of polymer-based nanomaterials for enhanced oil recovery and drilling fluids. Topics include polymer-grafted nanoparticles, nanocomposite polymers, stimuli-responsive systems, nanoparticle-assisted polymer flooding, interfacial and wettability regulation, transport and retention in porous media, rheology and filtration control, shale inhibition, and high-temperature/high-salinity stability. Particular attention will be given to structure–property–performance relationships, mechanistic understanding, experimental and modeling approaches, and scalable technologies that bridge fundamental materials science with field-oriented petroleum engineering applications.

Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
