Dear Colleagues,
Plants are constantly challenged by diverse environmental stresses, including drought, salinity, extreme temperatures, heavy metals, and pathogen attacks. To survive and thrive under these adverse conditions, plants have evolved intricate signaling networks and adaptive mechanisms that regulate growth, development, and productivity. Understanding these stress responses and signaling pathways is crucial for advancing sustainable agriculture and ensuring global food security.
This Special Issue of Plants aims to bring together cutting-edge research and comprehensive reviews that deepen our knowledge of plant stress physiology, molecular signaling, and adaptive strategies. By highlighting recent advances, we seek to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and provide new insights into how plants perceive, respond to, and overcome environmental challenges. Contributions that integrate physiological, biochemical, molecular, and omics approaches are particularly welcome.
We invite researchers worldwide to submit original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that will collectively advance the field and inspire innovative solutions for crop improvement and resilience.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Plants is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
