Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Aromatic plants are rich sources of bioactive compounds, including essential oils, terpenes, phenolics, alkaloids, and flavonoids, which play important roles in plant defense and human health. These compounds possess diverse biological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and neuroprotective effects. Their applications extend across multiple fields: in medicine and pharmacy, they provide natural alternatives for disease prevention and therapy; in food and beverages, they act as flavoring agents and natural preservatives; in cosmetics, they serve as fragrance and functional ingredients with skin-protective benefits; and in agriculture, they contribute to pest control and crop protection. Growing consumer demand for natural and sustainable products has further boosted research and industrial interest in aromatic plants. Overall, bioactive compounds from aromatic plants represent a valuable resource for developing novel, eco-friendly, and health-promoting applications.
