Dear Colleagues,
With the advancement of modern sequencing technologies, these technologies provide high-density molecular markers to dissect plants’ complex gene networks, which is essential for crop improvement. Moreover, genotyping cost is becoming increasingly cheap, making it possible to genotype thousands of individuals and to apply genomic selection in crop improvement. Genomic prediction is a promising approach in plant breeding and is being applied intensively in modern commercial plant breeding companies. The Special Issue aims to publish recent progress in plant genomics to dissect key genes and their regulatory network for yield and disease resistance; to use various advanced statistical models for genomic prediction and application in diverse plant breeding programs; to compare traditional linear models with the latest artificial intelligence approaches for genome prediction, integrating genomics, phenomics, and environomics data for genomic prediction; and to utilize various advanced quantitative and statistical genetics methods to enhance the efficiency of genomic selection for crop improvement.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Plants is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
