Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Recent advances in high-throughput omics technologies have revolutionized our understanding of fruit quality from the orchard to the consumer’s table. This Special Issue, “Multi-Omics Insights into the Molecular Regulation of Fruit Quality”, aims to showcase cutting-edge research that integrates genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and epigenomics to dissect the complex biological networks governing fruit development, ripening, pigmentation, flavor, texture, nutritional composition, and postharvest performance. Topics of interest include the molecular basis of volatile and non-volatile flavor compound accumulation; the regulation of anthocyanin, carotenoid, and other bioactive metabolite biosynthesis; the hormone–environment interactions that influence fruit quality traits; and the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying fruit development and ripening. We also welcome studies that explore the effects of environmental stresses and climate-related factors on fruit quality, as well as research that employs systems biology, network analysis, machine learning, and other computational approaches for multi-omics data integration.

By highlighting integrative approaches that connect genotype to phenotype, this Special Issue aims to advance our understanding of the molecular determinants of fruit quality and facilitate the development of innovative breeding, biotechnological, and management strategies for enhancing fruit nutritional value, sensory attributes, and marketability. Both original research articles and comprehensive reviews are encouraged.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
