Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, ‘Advances in the Medicinal Synthesis of Bioactive Compounds’, brings together cutting-edge research focused on the design, synthesis, and development of novel bioactive molecules with therapeutic potential. Highlighting recent progress in medicinal chemistry, this collection will showcase innovative synthetic strategies, structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies, and the application of modern techniques such as green chemistry, computational modeling, and high-throughput screening. The featured works will emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in identifying and optimizing compounds targeting a wide range of diseases, including cancer, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic conditions. By integrating synthetic chemistry with biological evaluation, this Special Issue will provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of action and pharmacokinetic properties of new drug candidates. The goal is to advance the discovery pipeline by presenting efficient and sustainable synthetic methodologies that can accelerate the development of next-generation therapeutics. This compilation serves as a platform for scientists to share innovations and foster future research directions in the rapidly evolving field of medicinal chemistry.
We invite researchers, scientists, and professionals in the field of medicinal chemistry to share their valuable findings and innovative approaches. This Special Issue will provide a platform to highlight the latest advancements in the synthesis and development of bioactive compounds with therapeutic relevance. We encourage you to contribute your original research, reviews, or case studies to help drive progress and inspire future discoveries in this dynamic and impactful area of science.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceuticals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
