Special Issues, Collections and Topics in MDPI journals
Inflammation is an important function of the innate immune response against infectious diseases. However, unresolved inflammation is associated with adverse outcomes during and after the infection. In this Special Issue, we focus on the potential of diet to modulate inflammation and infectious disease outcomes. The interaction of diet with gut integrity, microbiota, and metabolism to affect inflammation is also of interest. Additionally, we welcome studies on the topics at the nexus of infectious and chronic diseases. Submissions can include original articles on clinical, epidemiological, and preclinical studies along with review articles.
