Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent and deadly malignancies worldwide, with diet recognized as a major modifiable factor influencing its onset, progression and clinical outcomes. A growing body of evidence highlights the dual role of nutrition in colorectal cancer, not only as a determinant of cancer risk but also as a complementary strategy in disease management and treatment response.
This Special Issue, entitled “Role of Diet on Colorectal Cancer—Prevention or Treatment?”, aims to provide an updated and comprehensive overview of how dietary patterns, specific nutrients, functional foods and bioactive compounds modulate colorectal carcinogenesis. We welcome original research articles and reviews exploring mechanisms linking diet to colorectal cancer, including inflammation, oxidative stress, gut microbiota alterations, epigenetic regulation and metabolic pathways. Contributions addressing dietary interventions, nutraceuticals, probiotics and the interaction between diet and conventional therapies are particularly encouraged.
By integrating epidemiological, clinical and mechanistic insights, this Special Issue seeks to clarify whether and how dietary strategies can be effectively leveraged for colorectal cancer prevention and as supportive approaches in treatment. We invite researchers to contribute to advancing knowledge in this critical area of nutritional oncology and to inform future preventive and therapeutic strategies.
