Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to critically reframe the role of vitamins as key modulators of immuno-metabolic pathways underlying inflammatory diseases, spanning molecular mechanisms to clinical translation. Despite robust evidence linking vitamins to the regulation of NF-κB signaling, inflammasome activation, redox homeostasis, and T-cell polarization (Th17/Treg balance), clinical outcomes remain heterogeneous, reflecting variability in study design, biomarker selection, and interindividual factors including genetics and microbiota composition. This Special Issue is conceived as a research platform, designed not merely to synthesize existing knowledge but to catalyze new investigations. Focus areas include vitamin D-mediated immune regulation in autoimmune disorders, antioxidant vitamins (C and E) in oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction, vitamin A in mucosal immunity and host–microbiota interactions, and B vitamins in homocysteine metabolism and vascular inflammation. A defining feature is its “incubator” model: contributions are expected to articulate unresolved questions, propose testable hypotheses, and, where feasible, provide reusable datasets or standardized protocols. This structure is intended to facilitate reproducibility, enable data integration, and support the development of multicenter studies and future meta-analyses. By integrating mechanistic insights with translational relevance, this Special Issue seeks to establish a dynamic, scalable framework for advancing vitamin-based strategies in inflammatory disease modulation.
